Zarautz is located on an extensive plain in the province of Gipuzkoa, which faces out towards the sea. Its greatest attraction is its fabulous beach, which measure some two kilometres in length, and is coated with fine sand and flanked by the cliffs of Santa Bárbara and Mollarri. Zarautz Beach is the largest in Gipuzkoa and its 2,500 metres make it a multidisciplinary space, with different aspects and people. Families, surfers and nature lovers come together at the same time on this stretch of sand, divided into three zones: the western end, frequented by families and bathers; a central part reserved for surfers and the dunes at the eastern end, which are the habitat for numerous species of flora and fauna. There is a beautiful promenade that stretches across the town and expands to the neighboring town, Getaria, in a spectacular ride that never turns his back to the sea.
